SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 295
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Russell Irvin deCordova
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Russell Irvin deCordova, who died March
  16, 2024, at the age of 66; and
         WHEREAS, Born May 4, 1957, Russell deCordova was an
  esteemed Texan who was widely respected for his significant
  contributions to the Texas cattle industry, and he was inspired
  to join in this family tradition from a young age and followed in
  the footsteps of his father and grandfather; and
         WHEREAS, Russ shared a rich and rewarding life with his
  devoted wife, Debbie, and he became a prominent and highly
  regarded figure throughout the state for his success and
  influence in the livestock industry and as a breeder and trainer
  of cutting horses; and
         WHEREAS, An accomplished businessman, Russ built his
  immense success in the cattle industry on the principles of trust
  and integrity and believed in the value of a man's word and his
  handshake; in addition to operating his livestock auction
  business, Superior Livestock, he and his sons owned and operated
  Buffalo Livestock Marketing, Incorporated, and Russ could often
  be found writing up cattle sales, welcoming sellers, and
  mentoring young representatives in the industry; and
         WHEREAS, Despite his impressive achievements and impact in
  the livestock industry, Russ found his true passion in breeding
  and raising show horses; he won numerous championships showing
  cutting horses, and he was a valued member of the National
  Cutting Horse Association for more than 30 years; and
         WHEREAS, Russ was blessed with three children, Amie, Cody,
  and Ty, and he was a loving grandfather to his eight grandchildren
  and took great pride in sharing in their hobbies and watching them
  compete in livestock shows and sporting events; and
         WHEREAS, A man of strength, compassion, and determination,
  Russ deCordova garnered respect in all his endeavors, and above
  all, he cherished his family and the time they spent together; he
  was a source of inspiration to many, and he will long be
  remembered with admiration and affection by his loved ones and by
  countless others who were privileged to share in his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Russell Irvin deCordova; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Russ deCordova.
