No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

Public schools would be required to adopt a policy prohibiting an employee from assisting an enrolled student with social transitioning and to investigate suspected violations. According to the Texas Education Agency, public schools may incur costs associated with investigating violations. Certain schools may be assessed civil penalties.
