FISCAL NOTE, 89TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION
April 28, 2025
TO:
Honorable John T. Smithee, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2046 by Davis, Aicha (Relating to an affirmative finding of family violence entered in the trial of certain offenses.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
There could be a positive impact to publicly funded family violence centers resulting from additional revenue from fines paid by defendants granted community supervision following conviction of family violence-related offenses beyond those under Title 5 of the Penal Code, as would be required by the bill.
