Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Monday, February 3, 2025, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 10:07 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Chair made opening remarks.

Legislative Budget Board gave a presentation on Remote Work Policies.

The Chair laid out SB 1.

Invited testimony was heard on SB 1 – Article II.  Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.

Health and Human Services Commission

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Office of Inspector General

Senator Huffman resumed the chair.

Texas Civil Commitment Office

Department of State Health Services

Department of Family and Protective Services

Special Provisions Relating to All Health and Human Services Agencies

The Chair closed testimony.

Senator Huffman moved that SB 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 4:21 PM Senator Huffman moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
