House Bill 1238 amends the Government Code to authorize a housing authority created under the Housing Authorities Law to satisfy the statutory requirement for certain officers of a local government to attend an investment training session not less than once every two years and receive not less than 10 hours of instruction relating to investment responsibilities by requiring an applicable officer of the authority, as specified by the bill, to attend at least five hours of appropriate instruction every two years. The bill extends the conditional exemption from that training requirement for an officer of a municipality to an officer of a housing authority.
