|
Effective: 9-1-21 |
Senate Sponsor: Kolkhorst et al. |
Under previous law, case management services provided for Medicaid recipients under the children and pregnant women program were administered by the Department of State Health Services. House Bill 133 amends the Government Code, Health and Safety Code, and Human Resources Code to provide for the transition of those case management services to a Medicaid managed care model. The bill also provides for the transition of Healthy Texas Women program services to a managed care program. The bill requires information about eligibility requirements for and enrollment in a federally subsidized health benefit plan to be provided to certain women participating in the Healthy Texas Women program. The bill additionally provides for the continuation of Medicaid coverage to a woman who is eligible for Medicaid for Pregnant Women for a period of not less than six months following the date the woman delivers or experiences an involuntary miscarriage.
