House Bill 145 amends the Family Code to authorize a court to enforce an order for spousal maintenance by ordering garnishment of wages of the individual ordered to pay the maintenance.
The act takes effect only on voter approval of the constitutional amendment proposed by House Joint Resolution 16. If that amendment is not approved by the voters, the act has no effect.
