House Bill 1784 amends the Local Government Code to provide that a municipality that adopts or proposes to adopt the policy that its law enforcement personnel will not respond to burglar alarms may notify permit holders that they may contract with a security services provider licensed by the Texas Private Security Board to respond to an alarm. The bill specifies that certain information contained in alarm systems records may be used by a governmental body to inform an occupant of an alarm system location of the governmental body's alarm system response policy and proposed changes to the policy and of the option of the occupant to contract with a security services provider.
