House Bill 1812 amends the Local Government Code to prohibit a municipality from annexing all or part of an unincorporated area that lies within the circumference of a circle with a radius of six miles, the center of which is the intersection of State Highways 87 and 12 in Newton County, unless the area is in the municipality's annexation plan. The bill requires the municipality to publish public notice of an annexation plan if the affected unincorporated area is within the Mauriceville boundary.
