House Bill 2247 amends the Government Code to entitle the adjutant general's department, for each student enrolled in the Texas ChalleNGe Academy, to allotments from the Foundation School Program as if the academy were a school district without a tier one local share. The bill requires the department to contract with an appropriate school district for the provision of educational services for students enrolled in the academy and makes the school district with which the department contracts responsible for ensuring compliance with any applicable regulatory requirements imposed under the Education Code and enforced by the commissioner of education and the Texas Education Agency.
