House Bill 2430 directs the Texas Water Development Board to establish a Rainwater Harvesting Evaluation Committee to evaluate the potential for rainwater harvesting in Texas and to recommend minimum water quality guidelines and standards and treatment methods for potable and nonpotable indoor uses of rainwater.  Recommendations must also address ways that the state can promote rainwater harvesting, including ways to use rainwater harvesting systems in conjunction with existing municipal water systems.  The bill amends the Health and Safety Code to require the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to establish recommended standards relating to the domestic use of harvested rainwater in coordination with the evaluation committee.  The Rainwater Harvesting Evaluation Committee is abolished January 1, 2007.
