House Bill 2950 amends the Health and Safety Code and Occupations Code to continue the Texas Board of Nursing and revise the regulation of the practice of nursing, including the conduct that constitutes a basis for denial of a license or disciplinary action and an advanced practiced registered nurse's authority to determine death and complete death certificates. The bill provides for the adoption of the revised Nurse Licensure Compact and, effective December 31, 2018, repeals the existing Nurse Licensure Compact. Except as otherwise provided, the bill takes effect September 1, 2017.
