House Bill 3001 amends the Education Code to increase the annual appropriation to the Higher Education Assistance Fund (HEAF) from $175 million to $262.5 million beginning with the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2008, and to increase the annual allocation from the fund to eligible institutions of higher education, beginning with that same year. The bill also makes a lesser annual allocation from the HEAF to each eligible institution for the state fiscal biennium ending August 31, 2007.
