Enrolled Bill Summary

House Bill 3096 makes legislative findings in support of construction of a dam and reservoir on the Double Mountain Fork of the Brazos River, northeast of Post, and authorizes the Texas Water Development Board to acquire up to 100 percent of the undivided interest in the project in partnership with local or regional interests. The bill revises the authority of the White River Municipal Water District to include ownership and operation of a dam, and extends related land acquisition and other authority to include areas outside the district. It removes a prohibition on development or acquisition of underground sources of water.
