            House Bill 3135 amends the Government Code to increase the amount of state compensation paid to a retired judge or justice or former judge or justice while assigned as a visiting judge in a district court.  The bill provides that the visiting judge's salary is determined pro rata on the sum of the regular judge's salary from the county plus the greater of the regular judge's salary from the state on August 31, 2007, rather than 1997, or 100 percent, rather than 85 percent, of the regular judge's salary from the state as set by the General Appropriations Act for any fiscal year.
