Enrolled Bill Summary

Legislative Session: 82(R)

House Bill 3314

House Author:  Carter

Effective:  9-1-11

Current law requires an attorney ad litem appointed for a child in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship to meet before each court hearing with the child or the individual with whom the child ordinarily resides, depending on the child's age.  House Bill 3314 amends the Family Code to require the attorney ad litem to file a written statement with the court indicating that the attorney ad litem complied with that requirement if the child or individual is not present at the court hearing.
