House Bill 492 amends the Health and Safety Code to provide procedures by which an emergency services district located entirely in a county with a population of 2.8 million or more can exclude territory by making changes in the boundaries in accordance with an agreement between the district and certain planned communities. The bill sets out provisions relating to the effect of the agreement. The bill modifies the authority of a municipality to remove territory in the municipality's limits or extraterritorial jurisdiction from an emergency services district in a county with a population of 125,000 or less to remove that authority as it relates to territory in the municipality's extraterritorial jurisdiction.
