Current law makes a person ineligible to serve as a poll watcher if the person has been finally convicted of an offense in connection with conduct directly attributable to an election. House Bill 493 amends the Election Code to instead make a person ineligible to serve as a poll watcher if the person has been finally convicted of a felony in connection with such conduct or of any first or second degree felony offense.
