House Bill 550 amends the Government Code to allow the executive director of the Texas Lottery Commission to award a contract for the purpose of conducting certain promotional events related to the lottery to persons who would otherwise be prohibited from doing so. The act provides that only members, officers, or employees who are directly involved in selling or leasing the goods and services that are the subject of a contract with the commission are prohibited from purchasing a lottery ticket or claiming or receiving a share of a lottery prize.
