House Bill 571 amends the Transportation Code to prohibit the Texas Department of Public Safety from including any information on a driver's license or identification certificate in an electronically readable form other than the information printed on the license and a physical description of the license holder. The act requires the department to ensure that the information is used only for law enforcement or governmental purposes and makes the unauthorized use of the information a Class A misdemeanor.
