House Bill 681 amends the Code of Criminal Procedure to provide for the confidentiality and prohibited disclosure of certain records, files, and information held or stored by or for an appellate, municipal, or justice court and relating to a person convicted of or granted a dismissal after deferral of disposition for a fine-only misdemeanor offense. The bill sets out the circumstances under which records, files, and information held or stored by or for a municipal or justice court may be open to inspection.
