House Bill 692 amends the Education Code to prohibit a public school district or open‑enrollment charter school from placing a student who is homeless in out‑of‑school suspension except under circumstances involving the student's engagement in certain prohibited conduct. The campus behavior coordinator may coordinate with the district's homeless education liaison to identify appropriate alternatives to out‑of‑school suspension for a student who is homeless.
