            House Bill 799 amends the Government Code and Code of Criminal Procedure to authorize, for purposes of inquests into a death occurring in a county that does not have a medical examiner's office or is not part of a medical examiner's district, a justice of the peace of a precinct in which a death occurred or the county judge to request a justice of peace of another county to conduct an inquest if the justice of the peace or a county judge granted authority to conduct such inquests in the county is not available.
