HOUSE BILL 821 |
HOUSE AUTHOR: Goodman |
EFFECTIVE: 9-1-03 |
SENATE SPONSOR: Harris |
House Bill 821 amends the Family Code to permit notice of the substance of an associate judge's report in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship to be sent by a facsimile transmission. The bill provides for a rebuttable presumption that notice is received based on either the date stated on a signed return receipt for certified mail or the confirmation page produced by a facsimile machine, and deletes the provision that notice is considered given on the third day after the date of mailing.
