Senate Author:  Hegar

Effective:  9-1-09

House Sponsor:  Thibaut et al.

Senate Bill 1122 amends the Parks and Wildlife Code provision exempting a private, noncommercial, family-owned cold storage or processing facility from the requirement to maintain records of hunted game placed in such a facility to provide that the facility is not exempt if it is located on a hunting lease and is made available to individuals other than the landowner or the landowner's nonpaying family members or nonpaying guests. The bill specifies that the requirement to maintain records of hunted game placed in a cold storage or processing facility do not require the entry or maintenance of a record for a properly tagged deer or antelope carcass that is placed in a private facility. In addition, the bill clarifies and updates definitions relating to these provisions.
