Senate Bill 1185 amends Government Code provisions relating to certain low-interest home loan programs administered by the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation. In addition to making minor revisions in dates and dedicated portions of funds, the bill combines the professional educator and professional nursing program faculty member loan programs and adds allied health program faculty members to that combined program. For loan eligibility determination, the bill allows, as an alternative to current income limits based on area median family income, the maximum amount of income permitted by the federal Internal Revenue Code.
