Senate Bill 1189 amends the Government Code to set out required warnings and disclosures that a television advertisement for legal services must contain and to prohibit certain deceptive practices with regard to such an advertisement. The bill establishes that a violation of its provisions is a deceptive act or practice actionable under the Deceptive Trade Practices‑Consumer Protection Act as an enforcement action by the consumer protection division of the attorney general's office or by a district or county attorney.
