Senate Bill 1260 amends the Transportation Code to require an applicant for a nonresident commercial driver's license who is a resident of a foreign jurisdiction that does not meet the testing and licensing standards established by federal law to present a social security card and certain other documents. The bill authorizes the Department of Public Safety to issue a temporary nonresident commercial driver's license if the applicant does not present a social security card but otherwise meets the requirements for the license. The bill establishes the fee and expiration date for a nonresident and temporary nonresident commercial driver's license and requires "nonresident" to appear on the face of the license.
