Senate Bill
1317 amends the Family Code to authorize a retired judge of a municipal court
and a retired judge or magistrate of a federal court of Texas to conduct a
marriage ceremony. The bill extends the validity of a marriage license from 30
days to 89 days after the license issuance date.
