Senate Bill 1540 amends the Government Code to extend the confidentiality protections for certain personal identifying information under state public information law to current or former election officials and their employees, volunteers, and designees and to employees of the secretary of state's office who perform election-related duties. Additionally, the bill amends the Election Code to include the chair of a state executive committee of a political party that nominates by primary election in the definition of "election official."
