Senate Bill 1563 amends provisions of the Business & Commerce Code relating to negotiable instruments and bank deposits and collections to reflect changes of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. It updates definitions and other sections to ensure the coverage of electronic technologies and practices. It also includes new language relating to the discharge of secondary obligors and repeals a provision relating to the joint and several liability for an instrument.
