The bill sets out initial and continuing eligibility criteria for a person seeking to participate in the program and entitles an eligible person to receive a specified annual amount of loan repayment assistance for a maximum period of five years, subject to the amount of available funding and to a $20,000 cap on the total assistance provided to one person. The bill provides criteria for determining the eligibility of a student loan for the repayment assistance.
