Enrolled Bill Summary

Current law requires owners of residential rental properties to change the locks only when a tenant vacates the property. Senate Bill 166 amends the Property Code to redefine "tenant turnover date" to mean the date a tenant moves into a dwelling under a lease after all previous occupants, rather than tenants, have moved out.
