Senate Bill 1692 amends the Local Government Code to require the commissioners court of a county with a population of more than 125,000 and operating under the alternate method of budget preparation, on final approval of the budget, to take action to ensure that a copy of the budget is posted on the county's Internet website, if the county maintains a website. The bill amends the Government Code to require the comptroller of public accounts to provide on the comptroller's Internet website a link to the website of each municipality and county that provides budget information for the municipality or county.
