            Current law requires a plaintiff to file a supporting affidavit of a third‑party licensed or registered professional in an action or arbitration proceeding for damages arising out of the provision of professional services by a licensed architect, licensed professional engineer, registered professional land surveyor, or registered landscape architect. Senate Bill 1928 amends the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to make this requirement applicable to any claimant in such an action or proceeding and to require that the third‑party professional practice in the defendant's area of practice.
