Senate Bill 2073 amends the Government Code to clarify language that prohibits the secretary of state, when determining whether there is good cause for disciplinary action against a notary public, from considering as a conviction a dismissal of proceeding against the defendant and discharge of the defendant before an adjudication of guilt and a finding of guilt that has been set aside. The bill specifies that the prohibition also applies to determining the defendant's eligibility for disciplinary action.
