Senate Bill 2217 amends the Election Code to set out provisions relating to election data reporting, reconciliation processes, and electronic voting system requirements. Among other provisions, the bill establishes that a voter's registration takes effect immediately upon the registrar's receipt of a notice of the voter's change of address if the voter changes residence within the same county as the voter's current registration address and revises provisions relating to such a change of address. The bill establishes reporting requirements relating to polling places using optical scanners and election systems using a central accumulator.
