            Senate Bill 423 amends the Occupations Code to provide procedures for the issuance of a limited license to practice medicine to an applicant by virtue of the applicant's conceded eminence and authority in the applicant's specialty.  The bill specifies eligibility requirements, including education, examination, and training requirements. Senate Bill 423 authorizes the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners to require a limited license holder to serve a six-month probationary period during which the services provided by the license holder are to be supervised by another licensed physician and to determine the extent to which the scope of a license holder's practice is to be limited.
