Senate Bill 430 amends provisions of the Civil Practice and Remedies Code relating to a legislative continuance in a judicial matter. Senate Bill 430 also provides that, for an attorney who is a member or member-elect of the legislature and who was employed on or after the 30th day, rather than within 10 days, before the trial date, and for an attorney in a criminal case who is a member or member-elect of the legislature and who was employed on or after the 15th day before the trial date, a continuance is discretionary with the court.
