            Senate Bill 44 amends the Government Code to provide for up to 10 days of paid leave each fiscal year for executive and judicial branch state employees who are volunteers of any organization that is a member of the Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster to participate in disaster relief services for a state of disaster declared by the governor. The bill repeals provisions providing for paid leave for state employees who are, or are in training to become, certified disaster service volunteers of the American Red Cross.
