Senate Bill 609 amends the Government Code and Tax Code to establish the Texas music incubator rebate program to provide rebates of a portion of certain alcoholic beverage taxes collected from eligible music venues and music festival promoters to assist in their efforts to support and continue to bring live musical performances to local communities in Texas. The bill sets out provisions relating to the administration of the program by the Music, Film, Television, and Multimedia Office within the governor's office, including the rebate application process, and establishes eligibility requirements for a rebate and the Texas music incubator account.
