Enrolled Bill Summary

Senate Bill 703 amends the Government Code to consolidate the Texas Department of Criminal Justice audit and program review functions under an internal audit division under the control of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice. The act requires the state auditor to provide the internal audit division with ongoing training and technical assistance. In addition, the act requires that all money collected or received by the department be deposited into the state's general revenue fund, in trust with the comptroller, or in a local bank account.
