Senate Bill 735 amends the Government Code to allow an individual who holds an elected or appointed local government office to be appointed to the governing body of a state agency. The bill prohibits the individual from receiving compensation for serving in that latter capacity, but it allows the individual to be reimbursed for a reasonable and necessary expense incurred in the performance of an official function.
