Senate Bill 80 requires the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to implement certain specified recommendations developed by the state auditor's office relating to billing practices, inventory, recordkeeping, and information security with regard to public health laboratories administered by the department. The bill authorizes the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to adopt rules to implement the recommendations and requires DSHS to submit a report on the department's implementation progress to the governor, lieutenant governor, speaker of the house of representatives, and legislature not later than September 1, 2012.
