Senate Bill 840 amends the Code of Criminal Procedure to modify the procedures for the automatic expunction of certain arrest records. The act prohibits a court from ordering the expunction of a record or a file of a person who has been acquitted of an offense that arose out of a criminal episode and was convicted of, or remains subject to prosecution for, at least one other offense occurring during the criminal episode.
