Senate Bill 846 amends Government Code provisions relating to accreditation of veterans county service officers. The bill requires the Texas Veterans Commission to coordinate with the Department of State Health Services to incorporate a suicide prevention component as part of the accreditation training and examination. The bill also removes the requirement that the governing board of the commission approve the course materials, training curriculum, and examinations for accreditation.
