Senate Bill 913 amends provisions of the Health and Safety Code to transfer responsibility for the medically underserved community-state matching incentive program from the Texas Board of Health to the Center for Rural Health Initiatives. The act deletes the requirements that a primary care physician sponsored by a medically underserved area have completed a residency within seven years of applying for sponsorship and that the physician practice in the community on a full-time basis.
