                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to the use of revenue from the cigarette tax by  the Parks
    1-3  and Wildlife Department.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Section 154.603(c), Tax Code, is amended to read
    1-6  as follows:
    1-7        (c)  The Parks and Wildlife Department may use the money
    1-8  allocated under Subsection (b)(1) of this section to plan, develop,
    1-9  acquire, maintain, and operate state parks and historic sites.
   1-10  <The department may not use more than 25 percent of the revenue
   1-11  credited to the state parks fund under Subsection (b)(1) to operate
   1-12  and maintain state parks and historic sites.>
   1-13        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1993.
   1-14        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-15  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-16  emergency   and   an   imperative   public   necessity   that   the
   1-17  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-18  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
