No. 285 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the requirement that the assistant treasurer of a rural 1-3 fire prevention district execute and file a bond. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 794.036, Health and Safety Code, is 1-6 amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: 1-7 (c) The commissioners court of the county in which a 1-8 single-county district is located or, if the district is located in 1-9 more than one county, the commissioners court of the county with 1-10 the largest population in the district may require that the 1-11 assistant treasurer execute and file with the county clerk of that 1-12 county a bond conditioned on the faithful execution of the 1-13 assistant treasurer's duties. The county judge of the county in 1-14 which the bond is to be filed must determine the amount and 1-15 sufficiency of the bond before it is filed. 1-16 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-17 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-18 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-19 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-20 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-21 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-22 passage, and it is so enacted.
