                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to state maintenance and improvement of a farm-to-market
    1-3  road.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Chapter 1, Title 116, Revised Statutes, is
    1-6  amended by adding Article 6673c-1 to read as follows:
    1-7        Art. 6673c-1.  MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENT OF FARM-TO-MARKET
    1-8  ROAD.  The Texas Department of Transportation is responsible for
    1-9  the maintenance and improvement of Farm-to-Market Road 60.  The
   1-10  department shall widen to at least four lanes that portion of
   1-11  Farm-to-Market Road 60 in Burleson County that lies between the
   1-12  bridge over the Brazos River and the road's intersection with State
   1-13  Highway 36.  The department shall make the improvement in
   1-14  Farm-to-Market Road 60 in the manner provided for highway
   1-15  improvements under Section 4.301, County Road and Bridge Act
   1-16  (Article 6702-1, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes).
   1-17        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-18  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-19  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-20  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-21  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-22  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-23  passage, and it is so enacted.
